D.C.'s Pension Dilemma

About The Project

The District of Columbia's Pension Dilemma:  An Immediate and Lasting Solution, released in June 1996, recommended that the federal government reassume the District's single largest financial burden--the $5.5 billion unfunded pension liability. This recommendation was passed into federal law in September 1997, alleviating a substantial burden on District finances.
