In May 2012, DC Appleseed testified at a DC Council hearing on the Anacostia Waterfront Environmental Standards Amendment Act of 2012. In her testimony, DC Appleseed Project Director Brooke DeRenzis urged the Council to implement stormwater standards that protect the Anacostia River from development along its banks.
