In May 2012, DC Appleseed testified at a DC Council hearing on recommendations made by a task force for starting a workforce intermediary in the District. In his testimony, DC Appleseed Executive Director and task force member Walter Smith urged the Council to approve the task force’s recommendations so that the workforce intermediary can move expeditiously from the planning stage into implementation.
